Telenor Mobile Search and Advertising Study Highlights Value of MCN Federated Search

Real-time Federated Search and Personalized Advertising Will Improve Value and Relevance of Mobile and Multi-Channel Ad Campaigns

Tokyo, Japan and Mountain View, CA— January 29, 2009—Mobile Content Networks (MCN: www.mcn-inc.com), the pioneering provider of search management, search merchandising, and PPC content promotion solutions for the global mobile industry recently concluded its participation in a groundbreaking study of federated mobile search and personalized advertising conducted by Telenor R & I, the research arm of the Telenor Group, and the Telenor Global Coordination group.

Findings from the pilot, which was conducted in Norway in conjunction with MADS, one of Europe’s leading mobile advertising technology vendors and Aspiro, a leading Scandinavian mobile content provider included:

·        Post study, nearly 50% of the users indicated that they were “satisfied or very satisfied” with the service and 54% confirmed that they got the results they were seeking. Both results were more than double pre-study satisfaction levels.

·        Clickthru rates for personalized ads exceeded those for “random” ads by a 3:1 ratio, with users also indicating that ad clickthroughs increase in proportion to the degree of humor, context, and targeting associated with specific search queries

“The Telenor Group has taken an extremely systematic and disciplined approach to evaluating the effectiveness of mobile search and personalized advertizing,” said MCN CEO Marc Bookman. “We are pleased that Telenor has confirmed the effectiveness of Federated search to promote content availability, to rank and place relevant content, and to support the delivery of highly relevant and valuable advertising.”
